Ritz Carlton, Grand Cayman Family Photography

I finally got to meet their baby!!

A little backstory, Kelly and James were amongst one of the couples I got to work with on my first year of being a full time photographer. If you look hard enough through other pages on the website, you may find some of their photos still here because they are still one of my favorites. So, when Kelly and James reached out to me wanting to do family photos at the Ritz-Carlton hotel, I knew that they would once again turn out incredible.

While many people shy away from big, dark clouds, and will cancel sessions I take on the challenge head on. Pro tip: when the sky is completely clear, it is most likely that the sunset will have pastel colors (such as pinks and purples). However, whenever there are scattered clouds around the horizon, the sky turns into a fiery golden tone that is absolutely beautiful and flattering. Whatever your vibe is, go with it, but don’t be too scared about clouds ;)

This session had a little bit of everything: clear skies, a bright sun, moderately cloudy skies, overcast and an amazing sunset all at the same time. The weather in Grand Cayman will never cease to amaze me. We began our session at the Great Lawn within the Ritz-Carlton. I love this area and I have photographed engagements, families, couples, anniversaries and other events there. It is versatile enough for any occasion and this day was no different. One of my favorite spots to shoot there is behind the arch where there’s a little dock.

The true highlight for me came when we arrived to the beach. The lighting could not be more perfect on this day and the sunset delivered. The orange skies, the golden light, the outfits, the vibes, the love displayed on every photo, the little laughs from the baby, everything was perfect and I loved it all.

It is families like this that fuel my spirit and energy, and continue to inspire me to create and capture every moment you spend together with your family.
